The Toyota Previa is a Multi Purpose Vehicle that was also classified as a minivan in parts of North America. The Toyota Previa is a successful model that was introduced in 1990 and is still produced and used in different parts. The Toyota Previa also used the name as Toyota Estima in parts of Japan and in Australia was called the Toyota Tarao. The parts of the Toyota Previa were assembled at the plant in Kariya, Aichi, Japan. The Toyota Previa was used to replace the Toyota Van and was replaced by the Toyota Sienna in parts of North America.
The Toyota Previa was produced in three generations and the first generation cars were produced from 1990 to 1997. The Toyota Previa used the Mid-engine layout with rear wheel drive or optional four wheel drive. The platform that was used for the Toyota Previa is the TCR10, TCR11 and the TCR20 platform. The second generation of the Toyota Previa was from 2000 to 2005 and used the FF layout. The current generation is the third generation of the Toyota Previa that started in 2006 and will be used till 2011 with the FF layout.
