The Toyota Cressida is a mid-size, high-end luxury sedan. The Cressida is an export model that was manufactured by Toyota. Toyota used different names for Cressida in different parts of the World. The most prominent of the names used are Mark II, Toyota Chaser and Toyota Cresta. The first generation Cressida was introduced in 1977 and the first generation cars were produced till 1980. The name, 'Cressida' was not used in parts of North America from 1993 however; Toyota continued production in Japan till 2000.
The Cressida was initially available as a sedan, wagon, and a coupe version. The main features of the Cressida that were used to make this car special are the air conditioning, automatic transmission (a 5-speed manual was available), power steering, advanced parts for rear seat armrests, AM/FM cassette stereo with amplifier, reclining front seats, a rear window defroster and the Power windows were optional. Four generations of the Cressida was produced where each generation was more advanced than the other and used modern parts.
