The Mitsubishi Cordia is a compact hatchback coupe built by Mitsubishi Motors. The Mitsubishi Cordia was introduced in 1982 and was produced till 1990. The name used, 'Cordia' is an amalgam where the first part is taken from "cordorite" (a lustrous mineral) and the second part from "diamonds" (Mitsubishi's 3 diamond logo). The Cordia is one of the first cars imported and sold to America by Mitsubishi without the involvement of Chrysler Corporation.
