The Lincoln MKX is a mid size luxury crossover (CUV) that was manufactured and marketed by the Lincoln part of Ford Motor Company. The Lincoln MKX was introduced in 2006 for the 2007 model year and is a successful model that is still in production. The Lincoln MKX was used to replace the Lincoln Aviator luxury SUV. The Lincoln MKX is the production version of the Aviator Concept car that was shown at the 2004 North American International Auto Show. The Lincoln MKX and the Ford Edge used the same Ford's CD3 platform.
The Mitsubishi Mirage used the FF layout: front engine and was available with the option of front wheel drive or four wheel drive. The parts of the Lincoln MKX were assembled at the plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The Lincoln MKX is available only in the five door crossover body style. The Lincoln MKX used the 3.5 Litre Duratec 35 V6 engine and was supported by the six speed 6F automatic transmission. The main features used in the Lincoln MKX are the Vista roof, standard leather seating surfaces, satin nickel trim and real wood accents in the steering wheel, dash area and the door panels.
