The Ford Windstar is a minivan that was manufactured and marketed by Ford motor company. The Ford Windstar was introduced in 1995 and was manufactured for eight years, till 2003. The Ford Windstar was designed by the famous designer, Moray Callum. The Ford Minivan was used to replace the Ford Aerostar and was replaced by the Ford Freestar. The parts of the Ford Windstar were assembled at the plant in Oakville, Ontario, Canada. The Ford Windstar was built in two generations.
The Ford Windstar used the FF layout; front engine model with front wheel drive or optional four wheel drive. The cars produced from 1995 to 1998 are part of the first generation and the cars manufactured from 1999 to 2003 are part of the second generation. The first generation used the Ford D186 platform and the second generation used the Ford V platform. The Ford Windstar was powered initially by the 3.0 Liter Vulcan V6 engine or the 3.8 Liter Essex V6 engine.
