The Ford Pinto is a sub-compact car that was manufactured and marketed by the Ford Motor Company for the North American parts. The Ford Pinto also used the name as Mercury Bobcat. The parts of the Ford Pinto were assembled at St. Thomas, Ontario; Edison, New Jersey and Richmond, California. The Ford Escort was used to replace the Ford Pinto. The Ford Pinto was introduced in 1970 and was produced successfully for almost a decade till 1980. The Ford Pinto was designed by Robert Eidschun.
