The Ford Contour is a compact 4-door sedan manufactured and marketed by Ford. In some parts the Ford Contour was also called the Mercury Mystique. The Contour used the Ford's CDW27 platform for production and nearly US billion was invested by Ford for developing this platform. The Ford Contour was introduced for the 1995 model year and was available till 2000 in parts of North America. Ford used the Contour to replace the Ford Tempo and Mercury Topaz.
In 2000 Ford stopped the production of Contour. In parts of USA and Canada there was no replacement for Concord however; in Mexico, Ford replaced the Contour with a locally manufactured variant of the European Ford called the Mondeo. The Concord was available in three trim levels; base GL, a more luxurious LX and a sporty SE trim. Ford Concord used the 5-speed manual transmission as standard on all models, and a 4-speed automatic was optional.
