The Buick Electra is a full-size premium automobiles built by the Buick part of the General Motors. The Electra was introduced by Buick in 1959 for the 1960 model year. The top-line model of the Electra was called the Electra 225 and it used the six window hardtop roofline parts. The Buick Electra used the four-door hardtop as standard and a two-door convertible was available as optional. During the many years of production, the Electra was modified many times nad used many advanced technology.
The Electra used the following engines: the 3.0 Litre (181 in) Buick V6 engine, 1985 Electra 300 Limited, 110 hp (82 kW) at 4800 rpm, 145 lbft (197 Nm) at 2600 rpm. The 3.8 Litre (231 in) Buick V6 engine and also the 4.3 Litre (263 in) Oldsmobile diesel V6 engine was used in many parts. The Electra is used in all entries of the video game Star Wars: Rogue Squadron video games as a playable star-fighter. The Electra is a graphical replacement for the "V-wing" fighter. The Black Helicopter song "Buick Electra" is a love song for the car.
