The Audi V8 is a large luxury four door saloon that was manufactured and marketed by the Audi AG, a part of Volkswagen group, the successful German automaker. The Audi V8 is one of the most successful five seat saloon that was introduced in 1988 and was manufactured till 1993 for five years. The Audi V8 was replaced by the Audi A8 in 1994 and the Audi A8 was sold in parts of North America only in 1997. The Audi V8 also used the name of Typ 4c the name, V8 represents the V8 engine that was used for the car.

The Audi V8 was powered by either the 3.6 Liter V8 4OHC engine from 1988 to 1993 or the 4.2 Liter V8 4OHC engine from 1991 to 1993.
