The Alfa Romeo GTV-6 was the winner of the European Touring Car Championship for four years from 1982 to 1985. The GTV-6 also won the British Touring Car Championship in 1983. The Alfa Romeo GTV-6 was sold in different parts of the World and also used different names. A different twin turbo GTV was also built for the Australian market.
The Alfa Romeo GTV-6 used the SOHC V6 2.5 Litre engine from the Alfa 6 luxury sedan. The hood of the Alfa Romeo GTV-6 had a bulge to clear the top of the intake manifold of the engine part and this feature of the hood became one of the most prominent features of the Alfa Romeo GTV-6. The GTV-6 used the V6 engine that helped to start the car easily and a comfortable ride. The GTV-6 was modified and revised many times. The GTV-6 used modified parts and advanced features; new gear ratios, updated interior and fuel injection installation was used.
