The Toyota Yaris is a sub-compact or a super mini car that was produced and marketed by Toyota Motor Company. Toyota Yaris was also called in some parts as the Toyota Vitz or the Toyota Echo. The Toyota Yaris was introduced in 1999 and is a successful model that is still in production. The Toyota Yaris had the FF layout and was used to replace the Toyota Starlet. The Tyota Yaris was produced in two generations; the first generation was from 1999 to 2004 and the current generation is the second generation that started in 2005.
The Toyota Yaris was initially available as a three door hatchback, five door hatchback and as a five door multi purpose vehicle. The second generation of the Toyota Yaris was available as three door hatchback and five door hatchback. The Toyota Yaris used different types of engine that include the 1.0 Litre 1KR-FE engine, 1.3 Litre 2SZ-FE engine, 1.3 Litre 2NZ-FE(4WD) engine, 1.5 Litre 1NZ-FE engine and the 1.4 Litre 1ND-TV Turbodiesel engine. The parts of the Toyota Yaris were assembled at the plant in Toyota City, Japan and Valenciennes, France.
