The Toyota Corona was manufactured by the Japanese automaker Toyota. Toyota introduced the successful Corona in 1957 and was produced for fifty years till 2002. The name, 'Corona' is part of Toyota's naming tradition that used the name Crown, Corona in Latin means 'crown'. The Corona was sold as a successful export model in different parts of the World. Toyota used different names for the same model in different parts like, Corona in Asia, Carina in Europe. In parts of North America the Corona was replaced by the larger Camry.
Toyota Corona is a successful model that was modified many times and many advanced parts were used to make the Corona more successful. Corona was manufactured in many generations that were called the T series. The T series started with the T10 and continued till T 220. The last Corona or the T220 was built as sedan, liftback, and wagon. The Wagon version of the Corona was sold in parts of Japan as the Caldina.
