The Subaru XT is a 2 door coupe that was manufactured and marketed by the Subaru part of Fuji Heavy Industries. The Subaru XT was introduced in 1985 and was produced successfully for six years till 1991. The Subaru XT also used the name as Subaru Alcyone and Subaru Vortex based on the part where it was used. The Subaru XT or the XT6 is the name used in North America and parts of Europe. The Subaru XT is classified as a sport compact and was available as optional front wheel drive or four wheel drive.

The Subaru XT was initially introduced in February 1985 in the United States and in June 1985 in Japan. The Subaru XT used different types of engines that include the 1.8 Litre 97 bhp (72 kW; 98 PS) H4 engine, 1.8 Litre 112 bhp (84 kW; 114 PS) H4 (85-86) engine, 1.8 Litre 115 bhp (86 kW; 117 PS) H4 (87-91) engine and the 2.7 Litre 145 bhp (108 kW; 147 PS) H6 engine. The two types of transmissions that were used are the four speed automatic transmission and the five speed manual overdrive transmission.
