The Plymouth Breeze was a mid-sized 4-door sedan that was introduced in 1996. The Plymouth Breeze was introduced as a companion to the Chrysler Cirrus and the Dodge Stratus replacing the outdated Acclaim. The Plymouth Breeze was based on the Chrysler JA Platform. The Plymouth Breeze, Chrysler Cirrus and the Dodge Stratus were collectively known as the Cloud Cars. In 1996 the Breeze was available in only one trim level. In early 2000 the Plymouth Breeze was discontinued.

The ridged taillights which incorporated the reverse and turn signals into it made the Plymouth Breeze distinct from the Cirrus and Stratus. Plymouth intended to make the Breeze as a low prized vehicle to enter the mid-size vehicle market.
