The LR3 is a four wheel drive on road and off-road vehicle that also used the name as Discovery Series III. The LR3 was manufactured and marketed by the British car maker, Land Rover. The LR3 is the name used for the third generation of the Discovery series. The LR3 or the Discover III series was introduced by Land Rover in late 1980s and is the most popular mid size sport utility vehicle from Land Rover. The Land Rover LR3 was available as a front engine model with th four wheel drive layout.

The Land Rover LR3 was a successful model that was different from the previous generation and the common features were the stepped roofline and steeply raked windscreen parts. The name, 'Discovery' did not have a good reputation in parts of North America hence Land Rover introduced the alpha-numeric model designations and used the name 'LR3'The LR3 used integrated body frame, IBF. The LR3 used the 4.4 litre petrol V8 engine that produced 300 hp (220 kW).
