The Jeep Wagoneer is a full size Sport utility Vehicle (SUV) or a Compact Sport utility Vehicle that was manufactured and marketed by Jeep, a part of Kaiser-Jeep from 1963 to 1970, a part of American Motors Corporation from 1970 to 1987 and was a part of Chrysler Corporation from 1987 to 1993. The Jeep Wagoneer was introduced in 1963 and is a very successful model that was manufactured for more than three decades till 1993 model year. The Jeep Wagoneer was used to replace the Willys Jeep Wagon and was replaced by the jeep Grand Cherokee.
The Jeep Wagoneer used the FR layout; front engine model with rear wheel drive or optional four wheel drive. The Jeep Wagoneer is also called the Jeep Grand Wagoneer and the parts were assembled at the plant in Toledo, Ohio. The Jeep Wagoneer was available in the two door truck, two door SUV and the four door SUV body styles. The Jeep Wagoneer was designed by Brooks Stevens. The Jeep Wagoneer used the Jeep SJ platform and was powered by six different types of engines.
