The Hyundai Accent is a subcompact car produced by Hyundai in South Korea from 1995 to 2000. In 1995 the Accent (X3) was introduced as a replacement for the Excel. The Hyundai Accent (X3) was one of the most successful models and was the third best-selling vehicle of Australia from 1996 to 1998. Nearly 200,000 X3s were sold in Australia, from 1994 to 2000 and the model became the most successful imported vehicle.
In Australia, the Hyundai Accent was called Hyundai Excel, the name of Accent's predecessor. In South Korea, the Hyundai Accent was called the Hyundai Verna in 2000. In France, it was called the Hyundai Pony. In the UK, the Accent was available as saloon, sedan, hatchback, and coupe. This model did not provide diesel option.
