The Honda Prelude is a sport compact car that was manufactured and marketed by the Honda Motor Company. The Honda Prelude was introduced in 1978 and was produced and used successfully for nearly twenty-three years till 2001. The parts of the Honda Prelude were assembled at the plant in Sayama, Japan. The Honda Prelude was used to replace the Honda S800 and was replaced by the Honda S2000. The Honda Prelude was available in the two door coupe body style and was related to the Honda Accord.
The Honda Prelude used the FF layout; front engine model with front wheel drive or optional four wheel drive. The Honda Prelude was manufactured in five generations. The Honda Prelude was on Car and Driver magazine's annual Ten Best list ten times: three times from 1984 to 1986, and then seven times from 1992 to 1998. The Prelude cars that were manufactured from 1978 to 1983 are part of the first generation and the second generation was from 1983 to 1987. The last generation of the Honda Prelude was from 1997 to 2001.
