The Ford LTD was sold mainly in parts of Australia and North America. The LTD stands for 'Luxury Trim Décor' or 'Lincoln Type Design'. The Ford LTD was available as a full size or a mid-size luxury model. The LTD was manufactured and marketed by Ford Motor Company. LTD was introduced in 1965 and was produced for more than two decades till 1986. The LTD was replaced by the Ford Taurus and Ford LTD Crown Victoria. The Ford LTD used the FR layout. The name, 'LTD' was initially used as the highest trim level of the Ford Galaxie 500.
