The Dodge Mirada is a mid-sized car that was manufactured and marketed by the Dodge part of Chrysler Corporation. The Dodge Mirada was introduced in 1980 and was not a very successful model and was produced till 1983. The Dodge Mirada was used to replace the Dodge Magnum and was replaced by the Dodge 600. The Dodge Mirada used the J-body platform. The parts of the Dodge Mirada were assembled at the plant in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. The Dodge Mirada was available only in the two door coupe body layout.
The Dodge Mirada used the FR layout; front engine and was a rear wheel drive model. The Dodge Mirada was manufactured as a luxury car and was a major competitor of Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme and the Ford Thunderbird. The engines that were used for the Dodge Mirada are the 3.7 Litre Slant 6 I6 engine, 5.2 Litre LA V8 engine and the 5.9 Litre LA V8 engine. The engine was supported by either the three speed A727 automatic transmission or the three speed A904 automatic transmission.
