Dodge Challenger refers to three different models of cars that were manufactured by Dodge. Challenger was marketed by the Dodge division, a part of Chrysler LLC from 1970. The Dodge Challenger is a part of the Chrysler E-body cars. Dodge used the Challenger as a competitor for the successful Cougar and Firebird. Dodge introduced the Challenger as, “the most potent ponycar ever”. The exterior of the Dodge Challenger was designed by Carl Cameron.
Challenger was available in different trims and provided different options for the customers. Challenger was marketed by Dodge in different generations. The first generation of cars is from 1970 to 1974. The main features of the Dodge Challenger were the longer wheelbase, larger dimensions and more luxurious interior. Dodge Challenger was available in four hardtop models: Challenger Six, Challenger V8, T/A Challenger, and Challenger R/T. Challenger used the 4-speed manual transmission as an option in many parts where it was sold.
