The Oldsmobile Omega is a compact car that was manufactured and marketed by the Oldsmobile part of General motors. The Oldsmobile Omega was introduced in 1973 and was sold in different parts of the World till 1984. The Oldsmobile Omega was available in the two door coupe, three door hatch-back and the four door sedan version. The Oldsmobile Omega was manufactured in three generations and used the GM X body platform. The Oldsmobile Omega was replaced by the Oldsmobile Calais and production stopped in 1984.
The first two generations of the Oldsmobile Omega used the FR layout: front engine with rear-wheel drive option. The third generation was the last generation of the Oldsmobile Omega, started in 1980 and was produced till 1984. The third generation of the Oldsmobile Omega used the FF layout: front engine with front or four wheel drive. The three door hatch back version was not available in the third generation. The Oldsmobile Omega used the 260 V8 4.3 litre engine as optional from 1975 to 1979 for four years.
