The Chevrolet Citation is a compact car sold by the Chevrolet, a part of the American automaker General Motors. The first prototype was created in mid summer of 1976 and was released in April 1979 for the 1980 model year. The Citation was produced by Chevrolet from 1980 to 1985. The Citation was initially called as the "Condor" it is one of the compact front wheel drive vehicles sold by GM. The 1984 and 1985 models were called Citation II to convince consumers that the vehicle's problems had been overcome however it was not successful and was stopped.

Chevrolet used the economical V6 4 cylinder engines for the Citation. Planning for this family of vehicles started in April 1974. The 1980 Citation X-11 was available only on the 2-Door Hatchback Coupe and Claret Club Coupe. The Citation was Motor Trend magazine's Car of the Year for 1980. Citation is the first front wheel drive vehicle introduced by Chevrolet.
