The Chevrolet Caprice is full sized automobiles produced by the Chevrolet, a part of General Motors. The Chevrolet Caprice was introduced in 1965 as a luxury trim package for the Impala four door hardtop sedan. The Chevrolet Caprice was produced in the United States and Canada from 1965 till the 1996 model years. The Caprice was the most expensive and luxurious model in the Chevrolet range of full size cars. The Chevrolet Caprice won the car of the year twice and in 1985 was listed in the top ten cars.
The Caprice was introduced in mid 1965, in response to the successful Ford LTD series. The Chevrolet Caprice used parts like a stiffer suspension, higher grade cloth and vinyl seat, door trim, walnut trim on the dashboard, pull straps on the doors, extra convenience lights, special full wheel covers and an optional vinyl top to increase the luxury and the design. In 1967, Caprice was modified and used a more rounded bodylines along with revised grilles and taillights and the optional front fender corner lamps.
