The Buick Reatta is a hand-made luxurious sport coupe that was produced and marketed by the Buick part of General Motors. The Buick Reatta was introduced in 1988 and was produced for only four years till 1991. The Reatta can be considered as the first car that was introduced by Buick as a two-seater. The special features of the Buick Reatta were the unique body style and hand finishing that was uncommon for a mass-produced automobile. The Buick Reatta was initially introduced as an hardtop coupe and the convertible version was added in 1990.
The Buick Reatta used the E-body platform and was based on the FF layout. The Buick Reatta used the 3.8 Litre Buick V6 engine and was supported by the four speed 4T60 Automatic, 4T60-E Automatic or the 440T-4 automatic transmission. The parts of the Buick Reatta were assembled at the plant in Lansing, Michigan, United States. The Buick Reatta included the leather book containing the owner's manual, a flashlight and a tire gauge. The driver's side airbag was used in the cars that were produced from 1990 onwards.
