The Buick Lucerne is a full-size, four door sedan. The Buick Lucerne was manufactured and marketed by the Buick part of General Motors. Buick Lucerne was used to replace the Park Avenue and the LeSabre in 2006. The Buick Lucerne was introduced for the 2006 model year and is still produced successfully. The initially Buick Lucerne used the H-body platform, the rear-wheel drive GM Zeta platform is also considered as the platform on which Buick Lucerne was produced. The Buick Lucerne was initially introduced at the Chicago Auto Show on February 9, 2005.
The Buick Lucerne was built at the Hamtramck plant in parts of Michigan, United States. The Buick was used to replace the Buick Park Avenue, Buick LeSabre and Oldsmobile Aurora. The Buick Lucerne used the 3.8 Litre 3800 Series III V6 engine and the other engines used were the 3.9 Litre High Value V6 and the 4.6 Litre North-star V8 engine. The Buick Lucerne used the four speed 4T65-E automatic and the four speed 4T80 automatic transmission. The Buick Lucerne scored very good scores for the safety test.
