Buick Century is the line of full-size performance vehicles that were introduced in 1936. The Century line was manufactured by the Buick division, a part of General Motors. In order to celebrate the engineering improvements and design advancements, Buick renamed the line-up from 1935 as 'Century'. The Century produced from 1936 to 1942 used shorter wheelbase and powerful eight-cylinder engine. As a result of the power and the engine capacity, Century got the nickname "the banker's hot rod" in many parts
The California Highway Patrol placed used the Century 2-door sedans that were not available to the general public. In many parts of Asia, the Buick Century was confused with the Toyota Century. The Century was successful although it used powerful parts it was a lightweight vehicle.
