The Dodge Avenger is the name given to four different types of cars introduced by Dodge from 1970 to the last one introduced in 2008 model year. The first Dodge Avenger was re-named as Hillman Avenger and was introduced in 1970. Hillman was initially owned by Chrysler. The Dodge Avenger Coupe was available in the market from 1995 to 2000. In 2003 Dodge introduced the concept car for the North American International Auto Show and was called the Dodge Avenger. In 2008 the successful Dodge Avenger Sedan was introduced.

1994 - Dodge IROC Dodge Avenger sports coupe replaced the Dodge Daytona.
1995 - A DOHC 16-valve 2.0 L I4 engine (140 hp, 130 lbft (176 Nm) of torque) is standard and optional SOHC 24-valve 2.5 L V6 engine and an automatic transmission.
1996 - Power and torque ratings for the V6 were increased.
1997 - Sport model was introduced.
1998 - The on-board recycling vapor recovery system and a black and gray interior colour combination are added.
1999 - Airbags were added
2000 - Last year for the Avenger.
