The Dodge Durango is a full-size SUV from Dodge part of Chrysler. The Durango was introduced by Dodge in 1998 as a mid-size SUV. The Durango used the second generation Jeep Grand Cherokee as the base. The Durango was used by Dodge to replace the Ramcharger. The Durango was produced at the Newark Assembly plant in Newark, Delaware until the end of 2008. Dodge marketed the Durango as a sturdy truck-based SUV designed to hold up to eight passengers and tow up to 6,700 lb (3,039 kg). The available year for this model (Durango) are

The Dodge Durano initially used the 5.2 L engine and was replaced by the 4.7 L PowerTech V8 engine in 2000. The special all wheel drive performance version called the R/T that used a 5.9 L V8 engine was introduced in 2000. In 1999 and 2000, a very limited edition version called the Shelby S.P.360 that used the 5.9 litre motor with unique wheels, tires, and suspension, and bumpers was available. Chrysler plans to reintroduce the Durango on a car based platform that will be shared with the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee and the next Mercedes-Benz M-Class for the 2012 model year.
