The Chrysler Imperial is a prestige vehicle that was produced and marketed by Chrysler. The Imperial was introduced by Chrysler in 1926 and was the top of the range vehicle. Thy Chrysler Imperial was initially sold from 1926 till 1954 and the second generation was reintroduced in 1990 for three years till 1993. The Imperial used the upgraded 288.6-cubic inch six cylinder engine with seven bearing block parts and pressure lubrication of 92 brake horsepower (69 kW). The Chevrolet Imperial was chosen as the pace car for the 1926 Indianapolis 500. The Chrysler Imperial was redesigned in 1931 and used the 384.84-cubic inch (6308.85 cc) I8 engine.
