The Chrysler Aspen is a sport utility vehicle launched in 2006 for the 2007 model year by Chrysler at the North American International Auto Show. Dodge used the name, 'Aspen' from 1976 to 1980. Chrysler Aspen is considered the first truck-based Sport Utility Vehicle introduced by the Chrysler brand. As all other American automobile brands had a SUV version, with the introduction of this model by Chrysler all American automobiles had an SUV version. Chrysler Aspen was very similar to the Dodge Durango SUV. The Aspen was an all-wheel drive model that had three rows of seating to accommodate 8 passengers. The Aspen was available only in one series however there were many equipment packages available for a customer to customize the vehicle according to their requirement.The available year for this model (Aspen) are

Features of Aspen:

Three different types of engines were available,

Flex-fuel 4.7 L (4701 cc, 287 cu in) V8 (capable of running on E85 or gasoline in states where E85 ethanol is legal under emission standards)
Gasoline 4.7 L V8 (for California and other states where the E85 4.7 L V8 will not meet emissions requirements)
5.7 L (5654 cc, 345 cu in) Hemi V8 with MDS.

In 2009, Chrysler introduced the hybrid version.

Engine - 340 hp (254 kW) 5.7 L (345 cu in) Hemi engine with MDS as well as the new Two-Mode Hybrid system developed with General Motors and BMW. This hybrid assured an economy of 25% in highway and 40% gain in the city. The MSRP announced by Chrysler for the 2009 Chrysler Aspen Hybrid would have a starting at $45,570.
