The Land Rover Discovery is a four wheel drive on-road and off-road vehicle from the British car maker, Land Rover. The Discovery was introduced in the late 1980s and is the most popular model from Land Rover. The Discovery was produced by Land rover in three generation the current Discovery Series III is marketed in parts of North America as the LR3. The Land Rover Discovery was initially introduced as a three door model and the five door model was introduced in 1981. The interior was designed by the Conran Design Group in London, and had a seating capacity of 5.
The Discovery was a successful model that used different variations to suit the requirement of the market. A special version of the Discovery was introduced b Land Rover Special that is the two-seater, three-door Discovery Commercial version, lacking rear windows. The Discovery initially used either the 2.5 litre 200 Tdi engine or the 3.5 litre Rover V8 engine. In 1994, many changes were made to the Discovery I advanced parts were used and was called the Discovery 2. The 200Tdi and 3.5 L V8 engines were replaced with the 2.5 L 300TDi 4-cylinder and 3.9 L Rover V8 engine.
