Buick used the name, 'Estate' for their full-size station wagons. The Estate Wagon was introduced by Buick in 1940. The Estate Wagon was available in different variation the hardtop variation that was introduced in 1957 was called Caballero. The Buick Estate Wagon initially used the 'C' body platform and in 1977 the Estate Wagon was downsized and used the 'B' platform. In 1979 the Estate Wagon Limited was introduced and was a successful model that was used in different parts of the World and many variations were introduced.
The Buick Estate Wagon is a model that has seen a lot of modification and variations in the model. The Estate Wagon also used different platforms for the different models that were produced. In 1980 the body of the Estate Wagon was changed and made the wagon more aerodynamic and helped to increase the fuel efficiency. The Electra Estate Wagon was introduced in 1980 and was used to replace the Estate Wagon Limited. The 'base' model of the Buick Estate Wagon was called the LeSabre Estate Wagon.
