The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a retro-style compact SUV produced by Toyota. The Toyota FJ Cruiser, FJC was introduced as a concept at the 2003 Chicago Auto Show and production started in 2004, and was introduced at the North American International Auto Show. The Toyota FJ Cruiser used the Land Cruiser Prado platform and was available for sale from 2006. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is built by Hino Motors in parts of Hamura, Japan. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is Toyota's only current vehicle that used the name Toyota spelled out across the grille instead of the corporate emblem. The Toyota FJ Cruiser is a sporty vehicle that is built for the off-road terrain and was used by the younger generation. The FJ Cruiser used the 4.0 Litre 1GR-FE DOHC V6 engine with VVT-i, rated at 239 hp (178 kW) at 5200 rpm, and 278 lb-ft (377 Nm of torque at 2700 rpm. The Toyota FJ Cruiser was available with different transmission and drive-train options.
