The Pontiac LeMans is a compact and intermediate-sized car that was produced and marketed by the Pontiac part of General Motors. The Pontiac LeMans was introduced in 1962 and was in production for nineteen years till1981. The rebadged Daewoo LeMans was introduced in 1989 and was sold till 1993. The Pontiac Bonneville was used to replace the Grand LeMans in 1982. The Pontiac Grand LeMans used the GM's new Y body Platform and was initially available as a two door pillared coupe. The Tempest LeMans is the name used for the luxurious trim.
The Pontiac Grand LeMans was available in different variations including: coupe, sedan, convertible and station wagon. The four-door sedan or station wagon version was not available for the LeMans. The Pontiac Grand LeMans used the I4 4bbl carburetted engine. The Pontiac Grand LeMans was modified many times when the parts were changed and advanced technology was used. The Pontiac Grand LeMans was also used in NASCAR where it made great success.
