The Pontiac Bonneville is a station wagon built by the Pontiac division of General Motors from 1957 to 2005. In the 1957 model year, the Pontiac Bonneville was introduced as a limited production performance convertible. The Bonneville was known as the Parisienne in Canada until 1981. The Pontiac Bonneville shared the platform with the Grand Ville. From 1994 to 1999, the eighth generation of the Bonneville was available in Mexico and only in the SSE trim. 27,984 Bonneville's were sold in Mexico. The Bonneville name first appeared in 1954 by GM Motorama concept cars called the Bonneville Special. Bonneville was as a high-performance, fuel-injected luxury convertible when it was introduced. The Bonneville has gone through many modification and generation to achieve the current design and performance.
Bonneville models were standard equipped with Hydra-Matic or Turbo Hydra-Matic automatic transmissions. The other features include the power steering, power brakes as well as air conditioning.
