The BMW Z8 was a car produced from 2000 to 2003 by the famous German automaker, BMW. The Z8 was a variant of the successful 1999 concept car, Z07 designed by Henrik Fisker in Southern California. It was given the E52 BMW model code. The Z8 was a limited production model only 5,703 cars were manufactured. It is believed that almost half of the Z8 cars that were manufactured were exported to the U.S. The sensation and success of the Z07 concept car in the '97 Tokyo Auto Show' motivated BMW for the production of the Z8 card. Features of Z8:

This car offered an all aluminum chassis and body. This model used the powerful 4.9 L 32 valve Engine with the V8 transmission, that developed 400 hp (294 kW) and 500 Nm (363 lbft). This engine was built by the BMW Motorsport subsidiary. This engine was also used by E39 M5. In order to provide the car with equal and balanced weight distribution, the engine was placed behind the front axle. This midel claimed to successfully provide 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62.5 mph) within a short time span of 4.7 seconds. Motor Trend magazine achieved 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in 4.2 seconds. The top speed of the car was electronically limited to 155 mph (249 km/h) and with an unlocked chip was 186 mph (300 km/h).
