The Nissan 300ZX or Nissan Fairlady Z as it was famously called is a sports car produced by Nissan. The Nissan 300ZX had the chassis designations of Z31 and Z32 and belongs to the third and fourth generations of the Z-car line-up. The name follows the trend introduced by Yutaka Katayama, the president of Nissan Motors USA for 240Z. The'X' in the name of this model signifies 'Luxury'. In Japan this model was known as 'Fairlady Z'. This model was designed by Kazumasu Takagi and had good aerodynamics and increased power when compared to its predecessor, the 280ZX. The newer Z-car had a drag coefficient of 0.30 used the V6 engine instead of an I6. Nissan stated that, the V6 engine was supposed to re-create the spirit of the original Fairlady Z. In 1989 Nissan replaced the Z31 chassis with the Z32.The available year for this model (300ZX) are

Differences, Z31 and Z32:

The Z31 and Z32 models used a 3.0 litre, V6 naturally-aspirated and single (Z31) or twin (Z32) turbocharged engine. Z31 and Z32 belonged to the VG series however they differ in output. Unlike the Z31 Turbo, the Z32's twin turbo motor is intercooled. The output of the Z32's VG30DE and VG 30DETT is greater than the Z31. Z32 has 222 hp (166 kW) and 198 lbft (268 Nm) of torque however the Z31 had only 160-165 hp and 174 lbft (236 Nm) of torque. The twin-turbo Z32s had 300 hp (220 kW) and 283 lbft (384 Nm) torque the single turbo Z31 has 200-205 hp and 227 lbft (308 Nm) of torque. The Z32's twin turbo motor is also intercooled unlike the z31 turbo. Z32’s VG30DE series used double overhead cam and variable valve timing VG30 used a single overhead cam design.
