The Lexus GS 300 is a part of the GS series. The Lexus GS 300 is a mid size luxury sports sedan executive car. The GS 300 was manufactured and marketed by Lexus from 1993. The GS 300 was designed to fill the gap between the ES and LS series and to have a sports sedan. The GS 300 is a successful model that has been in three generations of production. Production of the Lexus GS 300 (JZS147) started on February 22, 1993 at the Tahara, Japan assembly plant. The GS 300 was a more powerful and a better vehicle that the ES series.
The GS 300 is one of the first rear wheel drive sports sedan introduced by Lexus. The GS 300 used the 3.0 litre 2JZ GE inline 6 cylinder engine and produced up to 226 hp (169 kW) and 210 lbft (285 Nm) of torque. 0-60 acceleration times for the GS 300 was clocked at slightly over nine seconds. The base price of the GS 300 was $37,930 at its debut in parts of America. First generation of the GS 300 ended in 1996 and 1993 was the best year for this model as the maximum cars were sold in 1993.In some parts the GS 300 used the 5 speed automatic transmission.
