The Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 is a mid size Uni-Frame sport utility vehicle produced by the Jeep part of Chrysler. The design for the Jeep Grand Cherokee was in work from 1983 and was introduced in 1989 as the Jeep Concept I show car. The Grand Cherokee is the first Chrysler model that used the name as Jeep. The Grand Cherokee was sold in different pats of the World and the Grand Cherokee SRT8 was introduced in 2005 at the New York International Auto Show. The European Grand Cherokees are manufactured in Austria by Magna Steyr.
The Jeep Grand Cherokee used the 420 hp (313 kW) version of the 6.1 Litre Hemi engine. The Jeep Cherokee SRT8 used many modified parts and advanced technology. The main features of the SRT8 include the Brembo brakes, large dual performance exhaust with polished tips, Bilstein performance gas charged shocks and modified suspension parts. The Jeep SRT8 drive line stayed the same from the 2006 to 2009 model years. In parts of Europe, South America and Australia the V6 CRD engine was used from 2005
