The Isuzu Axiom is a SUV designed in Japan and is built on the Rodeo platform. The name, 'Axiom' was decided by conducting a competition and was introduced in 2005 replacing the Ascender. Japan used a knife blade theme for its car-like styling for the design of the Isuzu Axiom. This car was built in Lafayette, Indiana, U.S. at the joint Subaru-Isuzu. Isuzu Axiom was not sold in the Canadian market and was withdrawn in North America after 2002.

In July 2004 the Isuzu Axiom was stopped after three years of production. The Isuzu Axiom was available with a torque on demand four-wheel drive system, and a direct-injection 6VE1 V6 engine was added in 2004, boosting power from 230 to 250 hp (172 to 186 kW). The body of the Isuzu Axiom was stylish and new however the chassis was the same as Rodeo. After Isuzu stopped production the lineup was rebadged General Motors vehicles: a GMC Canyon pickup and GMC Envoy SUV.
