The Infiniti FX45 is a mid size luxury Car produced by the Infiniti luxury vehicle brand that is a part of Nissan. The second generation of FX was called as FX45 and was introduced for the 2003 model year. The FX45 was used by Infinity to replace the QX4 as Infiniti's mid size luxury type SUV. The Porsche Cayenne and Volvo XC90 were the major competitors of Infinity FX45. Infinity FX45 used the FM platform, the rear wheel drive Nissan 350Z also used the same platform. The Nissan FX models were not sold in parts of Japan and the G37 was available in Japan instead of the Infinity FX models.

The name plates FX35 and FX45 refer to the two engines that were used. The FX35 is available in two drive trains, the Rear Wheel Drive and the All Wheel Drive. The Infinity FX45 used the DOHC 3.5 litre 24 valve V6 VQ35DE gasoline engine, with aluminium alloy block and heads. The Infiniti FX45 was the first passenger vehicle to offer a lane departure warning system.
