The Honda Civic del Sol is a 2-seater front-engined, front wheel drive, convertible manufactured by Honda. The Honda Civic Del Sol was introduced in the 1990s. The name used for the car, 'del sol' refers to the Sun in Spanish. The model was called as the Sun in Spanish as the roof parts of the car could be opened. The Honda Civic del Sol was first introduced in parts of North America in 1993. Honda introduced the Civic Del Sol in two trim levels, The S and the SI.
The Honda Civic Del Sol is not a full convertible, as it used a removable hardtop that stowed in the trunk and a retractable rear window for the convertible look. The Honda Civic Del Sol was called as the VXi in parts of Japan and came with a Honda D15B engine that produced130 bhp (97 kW 132 PS). The Honda Civic Del Sol is a successful front-engined vehicle.
