The Honda Element is a compact crossover SUV that was introduced in 2003 by Honda. The Honda Element used the modified CR-V platform. The Element was manufactured in East Liberty, Ohio and was marketed in parts of the United States and Canada. The Honda was initially available with four-wheel drive or Honda's optional Real Time four-wheel drive system. The Honda Element used the 2.4 Liter K Engine, and i-VTEC four-cylinder engine producing 166 hp (124 kW) at 5500 rpm and 160 ftlbf (217 Nm) of torque at 4500 rpm. The Honda Element initially used the plastic latticework grille and in 205 was replaced by the silver-colored slats. In 2007, the Honda Element won the Dogcars.com's Dog Car of the Year award. Honda has also introduced a concept model of the Element and is planning to produce the model by the end of 2009. The Honda Element has a towing capacity of 680 kg, or 1500 lbs.
