The Ford Granada is an intermediate sized car that was manufactured and marketed by Ford Motor Company. The Ford Granada was introduced in parts of North America in 1975 and was in production for seven years till 1982. The Mercury Monarch was considered as the twin model of the Ford Granada. The Ford Grenada was available as 2-door coupe and 4-door sedan variation. The Granada was a major competitor of Mercedes-Benz 280. Although the Granada was a model with a short life span it was sold in different parts and a total of 2,066,336 Granadas were produced.
The Granada was used by Ford to replace the Ford Maverick however they were both sold alongside for three seasons. The parts of the Granada were assembled in Wayne, Michigan and Mahwah, New Jersey. The Granada used different types of engines like the 200 CID six-cylinder, a 250 CID six, a 302 CID V8, and a 351 CID Windsor V8 engine. The Ford Granada used the three-speed manual transmission as standard, a four-speed manual with overdrive, and a three-speed automatic transmission was also used. The 255 CID V8 engine was used as optional in parts of Canada after 1980.
