The Ford GT is a mid engined super-car. The GT was produced and marketed by the Ford Motor Company. The Ford GT was introduced in 2003 and was produced till 2006. The Ford GT was designed by Camilo Pardo and was initially introduced as a Ford GT90 concept car at the 1995 Detroit Auto Show,and at the 2002 show, a new GT40 Concept was unveiled by Ford. The Ford GT is bigger, wider, and three inches (76 mm) taller than the Ford GT40. As a result of the potential of the car, the Ford GT was also called as Ford GT43. It was in 2004 that the Ford GT was available for the public.
The Ford GT used many new and unique technologies, including super plastic formed aluminium body parts, roll bonded floor panels, a friction stir welded centre tunnel, a ship in a bottle gas tank, a capless fuel filler system, one piece door panels and an aluminium engine cover with a one piece carbon fibre inner part. The Ford GT was also used in racing and was very successful. In some parts, the Ford GT used the 3.5 Litre Formula 1 Ford Cosworth DFR engine. Ford's V8 engine was also used for GT.
